Creative Writing Getting Started
Biog:
Gabriel is the author of more than forty books, including collections of poetry in English and Irish as well as several collections of verse for children. He has translated extensively from Irish and has edited a number of anthologies of Irish writing in English and Irish. He has published two volumes of essays and collections of songs and ballads. He has been described as “the best contemporary, traditional, popular poet in English” in Booklist, “a wonderful poet” in the Guardian, “one of Ireland’s leading poets” in Books Ireland, “Irelands’ favourite poet for children” in Best Books and “the Irish A.A. Milne” by Declan Kiberd.
Course Theme:
In the Creative Writing workshop, we will examine the nature of creative writing, discuss examples of poetry and prose from established authors and consider the work of the workshop students. Students are requested to bring copies of their work for every member of the workshop (i.e. 16 copies).

Each three-day Workshop will run from 9.00am – 12.30pm on:
Thursday 31st May, Friday 1st June and Saturday 2nd June 2012.
Places are limited to 15 per workshop.
