Biog:
   

Sinéad is a freelance print journalist and broadcaster, with 11 years experience. A regular writer for The Irish Times, she also reviews books for The Sunday Business Post.  Past work includes columnist for The Herald and Arts Writer for The Irish Daily Mail. She is a contributor to The Irish Independent, U Magazine, Food and Wine Magazine and Village. She is a frequent panelist on RTE Television’s The View, RTE Radio 1′s Arts show Arena and The Last Word on Today FM, as well as previously guest-presenting Cultureshock and The Orla Barry Show on Newstalk. She is a founding editor of The Anti Room.

Course Theme:            

The life of a freelance journalist is demanding, but hugely rewarding. This course will focus on getting started in journalism, how to get published, coming up with ideas, pitching to editors and exploring everything from feature writing to hard news and reviews. Print journalism is going through huge change, and the course will also examine broadening journalist horizons with broadcast and online media. A key element of the course will be writing exercises, homework and feedback/discussion on classwork.

Places are limited to 15 per workshop.
