Biog:

John is a novelist, short-story writer and playwright. He is the author of four novels, three collections of short stories, a volume of poetry and a biography of Ernest Shackleton as well as several plays. Awards to date are: The Irish Times Fiction Award and The Cecil Day Lewis AwardHis most recent book The Space Between Us was short-listed for the Kerry Group Irish Novel Award.

Course Theme:

The three sessions will deal specifically with three areas of short fiction writing. The first day will concentrate on finding the story you wish to tell, including landscape and character development.  The second session will develop the process and concentrate on finding the voice through which to tell the story, including the dialogue. The final session will look at how you can find the time and the commitment to complete the work.

Places are limited to 15 per workshop.

Workshop Fee:    €175.00 for each three-day workshop
