Biog: 

Mark is a writer/ actor and is from Ennis Co. Clare. His screenplays include Adam & Paul and Garage which premiered at Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival 2007, where it was awarded the CICAE award for best film. Mark wrote the television series, Prosperity. His plays include The Head of Red O’Brien, Mary Motorhead and the critically acclaimed TRADE which premiered at the 2011 Dublin International Theatre Festival. Mark has been nominated for numerous awards including, A European Film Award for the screenplay of Adam & Paul, Best Screen Play and Best TV Writer at the 2007 Irish Film and Television Awards and the London Evening Standard Award for Best Screenplay in 2005. His screenplay Perdido Amor is currently in pre-production.

 Course Theme:

A series of workshops intended for both beginners and the more experienced writers, which will focus on character exploration and development. From a number of simple exercises, the participant will learn to produce a database of stories and fully rounded characters, effortlessly building over the following days toward the development of story arcs and scene exploration. These workshops are intended as a forum for debate, exploration and practical empowerment.

Places are limited to 15 per workshop.

Workshop Fee:    €175.00 for each three-day workshop
