Course Theme:

There’s no sweeter sound to the comedian’s ears than the sound of laughter. But what makes people laugh and at whom are they really laughing? This series of workshops will explore the human experiences and emotions that generate comedy and how we as writers can share in the mischievous fun to be had with those reliable cornerstones of comic suffering: pain, shame and frustration. The focus will be on a range of comic material: TV sitcom, stand-up, sketch, fiction, cinema and engage in a number of creative exercises along the way.
