Kerry County Council Creative Writing Competitions for Youth
Prize Fund: €1,500
Categories:
Creative Writing for 9 years and under. Maximum 300 words.
Creative Writing for 12 years and under. Maximum 500 words.
Creative Writing for 14 years and under. Maximum 500 words.
Creative Writing for 16 years and under. Maximum 1,000 words.
Creative Writing for 18 years and under. Maximum 1,000 words.
A Limerick for all age groups up to 18 years.
Adjudicators: Writers’ Week Editorial Board

General Competition Rules
No Entry Form is required for this Competition.
The Closing Date for receipt of entries is: Friday 2nd March 2012.
Submissions may be in the form of poems, short stories or essays. One entry per person.
Name and address of entrant, school and age category should appear on every entry, particularly if a school is submitting more than one entry.
Entries cannot have been previously published.
Please retain a copy, as entries will NOT be returned.
Please identify the competition category for which you are entering at the end of the entry ie. ‘12 Years and under’.
The adjudicator’s verdict is final and no correspondence shall be entered into regarding individual competition entries. Winners only will be notified.
Awards may not be presented where an appropriate standard is not achieved.
Writers’ Week reserves the right to withhold or to publish winning entries in the publication “Winners’ Anthology 2012″.
