Listowel Writers’ Week is delighted to be nominated one of the Top Ten Festivals in Ireland in 2012 by The Irish Times last Friday 7th December.
Irish Times’ Mark Graham writes ‘ Listowel Writers’ Week attracts the glitterati of the literati. Don’t let the vocabulary, spectacles and polo necks fool ya – they can socialise as well as they eulogise, and John B has a wave for every visitor.’
So don’t delay; please cast your vote NOW for Listowel Writers’ Week by clicking on the link below. Apart from ensuring our festival remains at the forefront of people’s minds, you’ll also be in with a chance to win one of many great prizes.
Voting is open until midnight on Sunday, December 16, and the full list of Ticket Awards winners will be published in The Ticket section of The Irish Times on Friday, December 21. Best of luck!
Meet the Team
Hosting a world-class festival such as Listowel Writers’ Week is tremendously good fun, but as you can imagine, a lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes for many months prior to the festival. In recognition of our fantastic team of voluntary organisers, we’re continuing with our selection of Pen Portraits and this week we’d like to introduce Emer Prendiville.
Emer joined the Team in 2011 and worked initially with the organisers on the Kid’s Programme. This section of the festival has really grown in stature over the past few years, attracting top Children’s Authors, Drum & Fun Circles, Storytelling, Clown and Drama Workshops, Baby Boogie and much, much more.
A primary school teacher from nearby Moyvane, Emer has a wide range of interests including travel, culture, fashion, basketball, Irish set dancing, swimming, drama, walking, reading, films and music. She is also a member of the Listowel Parish Folk group.
Why not stock up on some original and handcrafted Christmas presents at Listowel Christmas Craft Fair, which is taking place at The Seanchai Centre this Sunday 16th December from 11am. Admission is FREE. (Tel: 068 22212)
